1. Make sure your lips are moistened with Paw Paw to avoid dryness.
2. If lips are flaky, use your toothbrush and GENTLY rub onto your lips like an exfoliant.
3. A little bit of concealer can be applied to your lips as a base. This will extend the wear of your lippie.
4. To line your lips ~ feather in the entire lip so that the lip has a waxy base. This will hold your lippie in place during the day.
5. Apply your lipstick. For best results, use a lip brush. (A lip brush can scoop up every last bit of the contents in the tube).
6. Bite your lips onto a tissue. This will ensure all creases have been covered.
Apply a second coat of your chosen lipstick. Its like a second coat of paint to your lips.
7. If colour looks as if its bleeding through, use a pencil liner last. (This a NP tip I learnt many moons ago).
8. Use your index finger and place into your mouth (Mama Sandra says wash your hands first). Quickly remove your finger gripping your lips. This will remove excess lipstick on the inner lip rim. A great way to save lipstick from sticking to your teeth.
9. Place a single layer of tissue to your lips and dust some loose powder to set the lipstick. Use your powder brush.
10. Finish off those sexy lips with some gloss or lacquer to give you that glass-like finish. (NB Lacquer can be quite sticky so maybe avoid if you are wearing your hair down. It will stick! ). Accentuate your Cupid's Bow (see more info below) by highlighting it ~ this is to complete the sexy pout! I find NP Loose Dust in Starlight works a gem.
There it is peeps. Sandra's very own DIY of lippie application and maintenance.
1. Keep your lippie in a cool, dark spot. Avoid sunlight.
2. If your lippie has become soft due to heat exposure ~ place it in the fridge for a while.
4. Don't share lipsticks as to not transfer contamination. Scrape a little off and then apply with a lip brush or a cotton tip.
5. If your lippie breaks (DAMN!!!) don't throw it out. Scoop the contents out and put in a little container (these can be found in the toiletries department in Big W or Priceline). Use a lip brush to apply.
Here are 6 of my favourite lippies.
