TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. Sample a goody bag!

Sick of spending your weekly wage on a new beauty product, only to bring it home and try it.........and you hate it. Damn. That's money you won't get back. Or you go shopping for a new foundation and you purchase a pre-packaged one. You go to apply it on.............WTF!!!!! This isn't Golden Beige....... more like Mustard Yellow.
I used to witness the latter whilst I was employed with Napoleon Perdis. Newcomers would waltz in saying they were after a new foundation and the previous brand they had was a eg. Beige. "Just give me a Beige in the stick please," they would request.
"Sure. Is that Warm Beige or Pink Beige you were after?" we'd ask!
"Just Beige", they would repeat.
Unfortunately,  each brand has their own versions of 'Beige'. Not all beiges are the same. Different formulas mean different shades.
Getting back to my point, the beauty of working for a reputable cosmetic range, all clients are encouraged to sit down and get a colour match done by a professional, so that the perfect shade is chosen. Hopefully, once you have the correct foundation, you can rest assured it hasn't been a waste of money.
I had decided some years back, to subscribe to an online company by the name of Lust Have It. They specialise in recruiting various Hair and Beauty manufacturers to provide Samples of their products (and sometimes full size) to sell as a goody bag to consumers.

2011 at a Fashion Show I did make up for. This was where I first learnt about Lust Have It. It was their launch night too. The pic is of my good friend Raymond and myself.

My package would arrive each month and I was always excited to try new products....you know....before I went out to buy the full size. There were 5 - 6 samples of different products which included moisturises, lippies, nail polish, beauty tools, hair treatments and even discount cards. It was awesome.  I did it for 2 years and paid approx $15 each month. I believe it was value for money. I only stopped because I was in undated with way too many products ~ I couldn't keep up. My house was beginning to resemble a beauty aisle.

So I recently decided it was time to begin again. But this time I would try a different on line company. Enter BELLA BOX.

My first box of goodies arrived 2 weeks ago. It's contents included Samples of Nak Hair Argon Oil Treatment, Maybelline Colour Show Nail Polish in Plum Paradise (actual full size), Nak Treatment for coloured hair, a make up tool called Lash Card to help prevent Mascara smudging and clumping, Optiva Comforting Day Cream and a Maybelline BB cream. Can't wait for next month's box.
Other methods of scoring samples is at beauty counters when you have a consultation with them. Don't be afraid to ask if they have any. What's the worst that can happen? They say no. You move on. Simple really.
Magazines will always include a sample of something. Try them. I do. You will see me rubbing the perfume sample all over me. (insert giggle here).
David Jone's also had a deal recently if you purchased any item from the Beauty Department, you could purchase a bag of samples (and they are great brands) for $19.95. This offer usually happens twice a year.

I was in DJ's today and I actually purchased a skin care brand that I had fallen in love with the sample I got in my sample bag. If it wasn't for the sample, I would never have discovered this awesome serum.
I think its a small price to pay to get the perfect product in the long run. If there are samples you are not interested in, share them with family and friends ~ no one will say NO to freebies. The beauty of it (pardon the pun), is that you can un-subscribe at any time.
So what are you waiting for....get sampling!
